Engineer Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, inaugurates and lays the foundation stone for development and expansion projects at the Hamra Petroleum Port in New Alamein for the Western Desert Petroleum Company – WEPCO Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, conducted a tour of the Hamra Petroleum Port in the new city of El Alamein on the Mediterranean Sea, during which he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a number of ongoing development and expansion projects in the port, which are implemented by the Western Desert Petroleum Company – WEPCO, the port operator, within the framework of the strategy to develop and maximize infrastructure. In the petroleum sector. Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla stressed during the tour and follow-up of new projects that the infrastructure of the petroleum sector in the new Alamein area, represented by the Hamra Petroleum Port, is an important opportunity and advantages that the sector is working to maximize and exploit optimally and increase the yield achieved from it supported by that geographical location and human competencies, Al-Mulla added that there is a vision and practical plans implemented by the petroleum sector to invest the great potentials and develop logistics and petroleum infrastructure in the port area and its expansions to allow keeping pace with growth and expansion.
Al-Mulla lays the foundation stone of the storage and trading area of petroleum products south of Al-Hamra Port in New Alamein.
Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, accompanied by a number of leaders of the petroleum sector, inspected the site of the project of the handling and storage area of petroleum products in the ongoing expansions south of the port of Hamra, where he laid the foundation stone for the new project that serves the new urban community in the new city of El Alamein and its industrial back to secure its fuel requirements, and the storage and shipping area of petroleum products with a capacity of about 400 thousand tons will also help to reduce the movement of vehicles transporting petroleum products on the coastal road.
During his inspection of the project site, Al Mulla continued a presentation by Eng. Ibrahim Massoud, President of the Western Desert Petroleum Company (WEPCO) and the project team on the stages of work underway to complete it and the planned works during the coming period.
